SOMERSET NEWS: Building cordoned off after being hit by a vehicle
A BUILDING had to be cordoned off this evening (Friday, August 19, 2016) as a safety measure after being hit by a vehicle on the outskirts of Bridgwater.
The alarm was raised at just after 7.15pm to the incident at Old Main Road at Pawlett with the Fire Service receiving reports of a vehicle having been in collision with a building.
Two fire engines were mobilised and further support was called for when firefighters feared the building was unstable.
A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “We quickly identified that all persons were free and clear of the vehicle and building and got to work making the area safe.
“The building was cordoned off as a safety measure.”
