CARNIVAL: Local clubs get ready for the Big One

CARNIVALITES from around Ilminster and Chard will be getting ready for the Big One on Saturday (November 7, 2015) with the Bridgwater Carnival which will be watched by an estimated 150,000 people.

A number of clubs and masqueraders will be taking part on the two-and-a-half mile route through the Bridgwater streets on the opening parade of the Somerset Guy Fawkes Carnival Association circuit.

Ilminster’s Harlequin CC, who have taken top honours from the South Somerset Carnival Federation this year which involved the parades at Wellington, Ilminster, Chard and Taunton, will be hoping to achieve big things on the Guy Fawkes circuit with their amazing Fogg’s World Tour entry.

Gemini CC, also of Ilminster, will be looking to do well in the tableau section of the Carnivals, while Eclipse CC, of Chard, will also be hoping to make a good account of themselves among the elite clubs of Bridgwater.

A number of other local entries will be looking to impress the judges and thousand of people lining the routes.
