CARNIVAL: Eclipse vow to wow the crowds at Chard Carnival

THE Chard-based Eclipse Carnival Club are vowing to put on their best-ever performance this weekend after suffering huge disappointment last Saturday (October 3, 2015) at Ilminster Carnival.

The Carnivalites from Eclipse were so looking forward to wowing the crowds at Ilminster, but were left deeply disappointed when disaster struck.

The ever-improving Eclipse CC was just about to set-off on the Ilminster Carnival route last Saturday evening when they were beset by technical problems which meant the club never really got going and had to withdraw with their entry Madagascar Europe’s Most Wanted.

Jason Baker, of Eclipse CC, said: “We had technical issues just after we crossed the start line and for safety reasons we decided best to pull out and make sure everything was alright and allow the Carnival to keep flowing.

“It was very disappointing, but these things happen unfortunately. We really wanted to put on a good show in Ilminster.”

But now club members are working round the clock to ensure that there are no similar problems this Saturday (October 10, 2015) when Eclipse will look to wow their home turf supporters at Chard Carnival.

“We will be looking to put on a fantastic performance at Chard to make up for what happened at Ilminster,” added Jason.

The club would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who offered them help on Saturday night and over the weekend following their problems at Ilminster.

“There are too many to mention, but you know who you are,” said Jason. “Once again it goes to show the Carnival spirit is well and truly alive!”
