CARNIVAL: Chard Children’s Carnival to wow the crowds

THE magic of Children’s Carnival comes to Chard later today (Saturday, October 3, 2015) with a cavalcade of young Carnivalites.

The entrants will assemble from around 10am at Manor Court Primary School in readiness for the all-important judging at 10.45am.

The awards will be announced before the parade through the town which will start at 12 noon.

It will be a big occasion for this year’s Chard Carnival Royalty – Amy Winter as Miss Chard, Abi Winter as Princess and Ellie Lacey as Attendant.

Some of those young Carnival fans taking part in today’s junior parade in Chard will then tonight be taking part in the main Ilminster Carnival – the second procession on this year’s South Somerset Carnival Federation circuit.

It is expected that family, friends and Carnival supporters will line the route through the town to support the children.

Motorists should expect delays as the procession proceeds from Manor Court Primary School in Duck Lane into Holyrood Street and then down Mill Lane before heading into Boden Street and then up Fore Street and back along Holyrood Street and return to Manor Court Primary School.
