CARNIVAL: Getting ready for the South Petherton Carnival

FINAL preparations are being made ahead of this year’s South Petherton Carnival and Fun Day events.

The Fun Day is being held on Sunday, September 6, 2015, between 1pm and 5pm at the recreation ground in Lightgate   Lane, South Petherton.

It will be a fun event for all the family with activities including bouncy inflatables, barbecue and refreshments, craft stalls, a family ‘It’s a knock out’, owl display, car boot sale, welly wanging, the crowning of Carnival Royalty and lots more.

The Carnival is on Saturday, September 12, 2015, and there will be music from 7pm in town with the parade starting at 7.30pm from the recreation ground in South Petherton.

The parade includes the Bournemouth Carnival Band and the Wessex Highlanders Scottish Pipe Band.

There will be various events all week in the run up to the Carnival including a race night and bingo as well as a Children’s party. There will also be a funfair on the recreation ground several days prior to the carnival.

Carnival raises funds for local community groups and last year they included Girl Guiding, Scouts, South Petherton Infant and JuniorSchools and the Reach Youth Club.
