Back-up support was called for and two further fire engines from Shepton Mallet attended.

It took firefighters around an hour to get the fire under control – although it had spread to an adjoining property and fencing.

“The shed, measuring 5m x 5m, was totally destroyed, along with some fencing, with the adjoining property suffering external damage only to some facia boards and soffits,” said a Fire Service spokesman.

“The fire was confirmed to have been started deliberately and the incident has been left in the hands of the club staff and police.”

Nobody was injured in the incident.
