SOUTH SOMERSET NEWS: Book sale for Purple Field Productions

ILMINSTER-BASED Purple Field Productions will be holding its annual book sale on Saturday (May 23, 2015) at the Market House.

Purple Field Productions make films and videos for educational and humanitarian purposes around the world.

Elspeth Waldie set up Purple Field Productions n 2004 in order to make a feature film to help combat fear and prejudice surrounding disability in Bangladesh.

“The moving image is known to be one of the most powerful and memorable means of communication,” she said. “Furthermore, in developing countries film shows are always popular and attract large audiences.”

For each project Purple Field Productions works in partnership with a collaborator – usually a small charity who work in the field and see the need for a film, but cannot afford to make one themselves.

Funds raised from Saturday’s book sale at the Market House in Ilminster – which starts at 9am – will go towards helping Purple Field Productions continue its work.
