 SOMERSET NEWS: Alcohol-related crime problems in town centre

POLICE officers and the pubs in Minehead town centre are working together to crack down on late-night alcohol-related crime.

The police and licensed premises are all linked through the pub watch radios which is aimed to help deter and detect drunken anti-social behaviour and alcohol-related criminal damage.

A police spokesman said: “Those seen to cause alcohol related crime and anti-social behaviour will be dealt with positively.

“Also officers will be out on foot patrolling Wellington Square and carrying out and licensed premises checks on Friday and Saturday nights from 10pm onwards.”
