SOMERSET NEWS: Appeal for info about two assaults

POLICE are appealing for anyone who saw two assaults in Bridgwater on Easter Monday to come forward to help with the investigation after a man was arrested on suspicion of committing both.

Both incidents happened on Monday afternoon (April 6, 2015). At about 2.15pm, a woman reported an assault in which she claimed she was grabbed by her hair and dragged a short distance along the High Street.

Between 5.30pm and 6pm the same suspect is thought to have assaulted another man on two separate occasions in Court Street. The victim was punched to the floor and the suspect reportedly repeatedly punched and kicked him. 

A 35-year-old man from the town was arrested and released on bail whilst the investigation continues.
