CARNIVAL: Ilminster organisers hand out the cash

ILMINSTER Carnival Committee last night (Friday, February 13, 2015) awarded cheques worth £3,150 to groups and organisations during a ceremony at the Shrubbery Hotel.

Carnival chairman Kym Toms said a big thank you to everyone who helps to ensure that the annual procession goes ahead each year.

The cheque recipients were as follows: Ilminster Fire Brigade, Westonzoyland Carnival Club, Ilminster Young Farmers’ Club, St John Ambulance, Vaughan Lee House, Scout Active Support, Ilminster Youth Football Club, Ilminster Lions Club, Merriott Majorettes, Sunny-Ile Pre-School, Ilminster Majorettes, Ilminster Football 4-6-year-olds, Guide Dogs, the 1st Ilton and Broadway Scout Group.

Further cheques were presented to Carnival groups and individuals: Harlequin CC, Alfie Windsor, Judy Williams, Xtreme CC, Jacks CC, One Plus One CC, Lorna Stephenson, Nancy Stephenson, Lilly Cumming, Cousins CC, Friends CC, Joseph and Thomas Sainsbury, Gemini CC, and the Trojan Twirlers.
