SOMERSET NEWS: Fire under investigation at flats

POLICE and fire officials are investigating the cause of a fire which happened outside a block of flats in Somerset.

Two fire engines attended the incident at Albert Street in Bridgwater last night (Wednesday, October 22, 2014) after the alarm was raised of smoke coming from a block of flats.

A spokesman for the Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service told the Yeovil Press: “Fire crews confirmed a small fire involving paper outside a first-floor flat.

“The fire was out on the arrival of fire crews who inspected the premises to ensure it was safe.”

But the spokesman added: “The cause of the fire is still under investigation by the Fire Service and the police.”
