YEOVIL NEWS: Drug offender sent to prison

A YEOVIL man has been sentenced to 12 months imprisonment for drug offences.

Shane John Richardson, 42, was sent to prison for possessing a Class-B drug, namely amphetamine, with intent to supply and also possessing another Class-B drug, cannabis.YEOVIL NEWS: Drug offender sent to prison

On Thursday, March 7, 2013, whilst on a mobile patrol in Yeovil the police’s attention was drawn to a known defendant, Shane Richardson, who was riding a bike at the time.

A police spokesman, speaking yesterday (Friday, September 26, 2014) on the Avon and Somerset Constabulary’s website, said: “We followed Richardson back to his address, where we searched him.

“We removed three bags of white powder each separately weighing 69 grams, 42 grams and 0.3 grams. Another bag containing cannabis weighing 1.1 was also recovered.

“After seizing Richardson’s mobile, the content identified that the suspect was involved in supplying controlled drugs.”

On September 19, 2014, Shane Richardson pleaded guilty at Taunton Crown Court to possession with intent to supply the controlled drug of Class B, amphetamine. Richardson also pleaded guilty to possession of the controlled drug of Class B, cannabis.

Richardson was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £100 and will serve 12 months imprisonment for his crimes.
