SOUTH SOMERSET NEWS: Air pistol or BB gun used in attack on A303

POLICE are appealing for witnesses following an incident on the A303 near South Petherton in which a car passenger shot a weapon at another vehicle.

It happened at about 1pm on Sunday, August 17, 2014, when a car was travelling between the Cartgate roundabout on the outskirts of Yeovil and the South Petherton roundabout.

A police spokesman told the Yeovil Press: “The passenger of a silver coloured Vauxhall Corsa leant out of the window and fired what is thought to have been an air pistol or BB gun at the victim’s car which was following the suspect’s vehicle.

“The windscreen of the following car was damaged but the 23-year-old victim was unhurt.

“The Vauxhall is then thought to have driven off in the direction of Crewkerne.

“We would like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time who may have seen the incident or saw the Vauxhall.”
