SOUTH SOMERSET NEWS: Chimney fire alarm

FIREFIGHTERS from Castle Cary and Yeovil were mobilised last night (Saturday, April 19, 2014) to deal with a chimney fire at a home in Bruton.

The 999 call was made at just after 9.15pm to the problem at a three-storey property in High Street, Burton, and one fire engine from Castle Cary was initially sent out.

Officers asked for backup support from Yeovil with an aerial ladder as they wanted some to fight the fire from the first-floor and the roof of the property.
