SOUTH SOMERSET NEWS: Petrol leaking from car

A BROKEN down car parked by a DIY store in Chard caused problems last night (Saturday, April 19, 2014) when it started leaking petrol.

One fire engine from Chard was mobilised at just after 8.15pm by police to the incident by the B&Q store in Furnham Road.

A spokesman for the Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said: “Shortly after arriving the crew confirmed that the vehicle appeared to have been involved in a road traffic collision, but nobody was with the vehicle.”

The spokesman added: “We made the vehicle safe and left duty of care with the police who awaited the arrival of the owner.”
