SOMERSET NEWS: Fire in block of flats

FIREFIGHTERS were called out early this morning (Sunday, April 20, 2014) after receiving reports of the smell of burning coming from a block of flats in Somerset.

The alarm was raised at just before 2.15am to the flats in King Street, Bridgwater, and firefighters discovered that the problem had been caused by an unattended saucepan on a hob in a flat which had burned.

Two fire engines and an aerial platform from Bridgwater were mobilised.
