SOUTH SOMERSET NEWS: Mayor and vicar taking the plunge

A MAYOR and vicar from a South Somerset town will today (Saturday, April 19, 2014) be joining forces for a daring challenge – abseiling down a church tower for charity.

Cllr Jenny Kenton, the Mayor of Chard, has agreed to join Rev Sue Tucker – in full ceremonial robes – to abseil down the historic St Mary’s Church in the town.

It is all to raise money for much-needed church repairs and they will be making the drop from around 12noon.

They would love to see lots of people to cheer them on.
