Two men arrested for assault - but police can't find the victim!

TWO men have been arrested on suspicion of an assault in Yeovil – although police would like to identify the victim as part of their investigation.

Police were alerted to an assault after it was spotted on CCTV.

The incident took place at 3.30pm on Saturday, February 8, 2014, when two men were seen assaulting a third man in Middle Street.

A police spokesman said: “We were directed to the scene and two men were arrested. But, despite an extensive check of the local area, and the hospital, the victim could not be found.”

The victim is thought to be a white man who may have an Irish accent.

The two suspects have been released on bail pending further investigations.
