Read-it! Frog bin set for Johnson Park

PARISH councillors have agreed to spend out more than £400 to replace a rubbish bin at Johnson Park in Yeovil.

Members of Yeovil Without Parish Council were told this week that a rocket-shaped bin in the children’s play area at JohnsonPark had been damaged beyond repair – not by vandals it should be pointed out, but by the recent storm.

The fierce winds blew the lid of the bin up and now the lid won’t go back down again, councillors were told.

Councillors agreed to go for a frog-shaped bin this time – at a cost of £411.

Parish clerk Barbara Appleby said: “To have a normal bin in the play area is a bit boring.”
