Buckets of water used to put out kitchen fire

FIREFIGHTERS were called out last night (Friday, November 29, 2013) to deal with a kitchen fire at a home in South Somerset.

Fire Control received a call at 9.45pm to reports of an oven on a fire at a home in Bailey Hill, Castle Cary.

Crews from Wincanton and Castle Cary were mobilised and found a small fire involving an Aga oven.

Officers isolated the gas to the oven and put out the small fire by dismantling sections of the Aga and buckets of water.

A Fire Service spokesman said: “The cause was a small amount of food debris smouldering on the Aga.”
