Investigation into car fire on Ilchester Straight

FIREFIGHTERS were called out to the Ilchester Straight on the A37 in the early hours of this morning (Sunday, October 13, 2013) to deal with a car fire.

The alarm was raised at just before 4am to the incident near Chilthorne Domer and one fire engine from Yeovil was mobilised.

Officers found one vehicle well alight and severely damaged by fire.

A spokesman for the Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said: “The cause of the fire is still under investigation by the Fire Service and the police.”
