Overhead cables damaged in Landrover Defender blaze

FIREFIGHTERS were called out last night (Friday, October 12, 2013) to deal with a car fire in which a Landrover Defender burst into flames.

The alarm was raised just before 8.30pm to the incident in Willis Lane at North Perrott, near Crewkerne, and one fire crew was mobilised after receiving a call from the vehicle’s owner.

A spokesman for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said: “The car was severely damaged by fire – which had been caused accidentally.”

Overhead cables were also damaged in the incident an engineers from Western Power and British Telecom were also called.
