New patio plans at The Bell

THE rebuilt Hungry Horse restaurant in Yeovil looks set to have a new outside seating patio area at the front of the pub.

The pub – better known as The Bell – in Preston Road, Yeovil, was severely damaged by fire in January.

Work is currently ongoing to rebuild the pub and it is expected that it will be back open for business again before the end of the year with its old outside seating areas at the side and rear.

But pub owners Greene King have now applied to South Somerset District Council for planning permission to install a new seating patio area at the front of the building as well.

The council is expected to make a decision on the application by November 11, 2013.

Greene King have vowed to see The Bell rise from the ashes of the devastating fire which gutted the building.

The Bell was very much part of the local community and wants to do so again when it reopens.
