Exam Results 2013: Students are delighted
STUDENTS from Yeovil College have spoken of their delight today (Thursday, August 15) at seeing all their hard work come to fruition with great results in their A-Levels.
Beth Davies, 18, of Yeovil, achieved an A* in English Literature, as well as a B grade in English Language, C in History and A for her Extended Project Qualification (EPQ).
She said: “I really liked having the opportunity to do the EPQ. I thought it was nice to do something different from my A-Levels.
"My project was on selective breeding in dogs, so it was good to do something science-related alongside my Humanities A-Levels.
“The EPQ was really good, but I’d recommend starting your research in the summer if you can!”
Beth is a former Westfield Academy student and is going to work as a volunteer for a youth residential charity. The EPQ is offered to all A-Level students at Yeovil College to help them prepare for university and gain additional UCAS points.

Nicola initially trained in Health & Social Care and took AS-Level Biology as a step towards her ultimate goal of becoming a Midwife. She achieved straight As and will return next year to complete an A Level.
Former Wadham School pupil Owen Edwards studied Sport, Maths and Biology A-Levels at Yeovil College, achieving straight Bs and a place at Loughborough University.
He said: “I’m going to study Sport & Exercise Science with a Gymnastics pathway. I’m a member of Gryphon West Gym Club and was part of the acrobatics team which made it to the nationals this year.
“We won the silver medal. I chose to come to Yeovil College because it’s both convenient and good. I’ve really enjoyed my two years here.”
