Beauty student lands dream job

YEOVIL College student Alice Stroud has been offered a job with a top spa company.

The former StanchesterAcademy student is studying beauty therapy and is delighted to have been given the opportunity with Steiner – an international company responsible for providing professional beauty therapists, personal trainers and hairdressers to cruise liners, holiday resorts and retail outlets worldwide.

Alice, 19, of South Petherton, decided that she wanted to apply for a post on a cruise ship following a guest speaker’s visit to Yeovil College.Beauty student lands dream job

“As soon as I heard about it as a possible career, I decided I wanted to do it,” she said.

“I like that working on a cruise ship will give me the opportunity to travel and see the world while gaining some great experience.  When I heard I’d got the job, I was totally lost for words, it’s so amazing!”

Alice added: “My family are really excited for me and, although I’ll miss them and they’ll miss me, I think it’s the best thing I can do at this time in my life.

“I’m really looking forward to it and the fact that we’ve treated real clients in an open salon at college means that I’m really well prepared for the role.  I’m going to make sure I enjoy every moment.”

Having passed her interview, Alice will have to complete three weeks’ training before being told where she will be working.
