A FIRE engine from Yeovil was sent out this morning following reports of a property fire at a home in Larkhill Road in the town.

The alarm was raised at just after 11.45am and although the blaze was reported to have been already out, firefighters still attended the incident to carry out a safety check.

A spokesman for the Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said: ''Crews discovered there had been a fire involving an electrical heater and soft furnishings. Crews ensured the fire was safely extinguished.''

The spokesman added that the Ambulance Service also attended due to the ''occupant needing medical attention.''
