Serious sexual assault in Yeovil

POLICE are appealing for witnesses and information following a serious sexual assault in Hendford in Yeovil.

At around 11pm on Sunday, December 9, a woman was walking through an underpass when a man approached her and sexually assaulted. He then made off.

Officers investigating this incident would now like to speak to a man who is described as being of Pakistani origin, around 5ft 5/6 inches tall, of a skinny build, with short dark hair. He was wearing dark jeans, a hooded style top with a zip up the middle and very white trainers with white laces.

PC Chris Clegg, from Wells CID, said: "Offences like this are extremely rare in Yeovil and I would urge anyone who knows anything about this crime to come forward and contact us.

"I would as normal advise everyone in the community to take the normal safety precautions and remain vigilant. If you see anyone acting suspiciously, call us."
