Yeovil market on the move?

COUNCIL officials are looking at possibly moving the location of the Yeovil market in a bid to boost trade for stall-holders.

The market has been based in Lower Middle Street on Tuesdays and Friday since 1996 and is open for trade from 9am to 3pm having previously been situated at the Petters Way car park.

But Cllr Tony Fife, chairman of South Somerset District Council’s Area South committee, said: “There are a lot of concerns about the market and we are looking at its location.”

He added, however, that they would not be looking at returning the market to its previous home at Petters Way.
