Yeovil Loyalty Card to be introduced for shoppers

Yeovil Loyalty Card to be introduced for shoppersBUSINESS chiefs are planning on introducing a Yeovil Loyalty Card for shoppers during the early part of 2013.

David Mills, of the Yeovil Town Centre Partnership, has said that the scheme should benefit retailers and shoppers visiting the town centre.

Mr Mills gave a presentation to Yeovil Town Council last week and said it was hoped the scheme would help to build a more vibrant and sustainable night-time economy.

The scheme is designed to increase footfall and spend in the town centre of Yeovil by offering loyalty card users discounts, offers and bargains.

The proposals include producing 40,000 loyalty cards and target at least 60 per cent of town centre businesses to participate in the scheme.

Organisers will be looking to target people living within a 45-minute drive-time area of Yeovil to show that it is a great place to shop and socialise.

Initial objectives are to get 5,000 registered names and addresses for town centre bosses to communicate with in the future.

Possible offers would be 2-4-1 deals, buy-one-get-one-free initiatives and discount prices. Mr Mills said the offers would need to be exclusive in order to make the loyalty card scheme attractive, while the offers would also be changed on a monthly basis.

Mr Mills was thanked by the Mayor of Yeovil, Cllr Clive Davis, for his “interesting and informative” presentation and the matter was noted by councillors.
