Two taken to hospital after Lyde Road collision

Two taken to hospital after Lyde Road collisionTWO people were taken to hospital earlier today following a collision on Lyde Road in Yeovil involving two vehicles.

The alarm was raised at just before 3.45pm after the Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service were notified by the Ambulance Service.

Two fire engines and a rescue tender from Yeovil attended the scene and found one person trapped inside a car.

They used hydraulic cutting equipment to remove the roof of the car, while a second casualty was released from the other vehicle by ambulance personnel prior to the arrival of the FIre Service.

Both casualties were taken to hospital.
