Dog rescued from Larkspur Crescent flat fire

A DOG was rescued from a flat in Larkspur Crescent, Yeovil, earlier today following a cooker fire.

The alarm was raised at just before 6pm when a smoke alarm started sounding from a flat.

One fire engine from Yeovil was mobilised and officers could see smoke in the kitchen through the window of the flat and they forced their entry into the property.

A spokesman for the Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said: ''The small fire which was contained within the cooker was put out and one dog was rescued from the flat.''
