YEOVIL NEWS: Elderly customer gets stuck in lift

FIREFIGHTERS were called out to the Marks and Spencer store in Middle Street, Yeovil, on Monday (March 13, 2017) after a customer got trapped in a lift.

The alarm was raised by staff members at just before midday and one fire engine from Yeovil was mobilised to the store.

Firefighters discovered that an elderly man had got stuck in one of the customer lifts and they were able to quickly release him unharmed.

“Duty of care was then left with staff awaiting the arrival of a lift engineer,” said a Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesman.
