SOUTH SOMERSET NEWS: Crash at RNAS Yeovilton

EMERGENCY services are dealing with a two-vehicle crash outside the RNAS Yeovilton air base.

The B3151 was closed on Tuesday (November 22, 2016) which sits between the A303 at Camel Cross and the Bineham Lane at Ilchester and runs along the perimeter of RNAS Yeovilton.

A police spokesman said: “The collision is located outside Yeovilton air base.”

UPDATE – 1.54pm (Tuesday, November 22, 2016): One person was transferred to hospital prior to the arrival of the Fire Service at just before 12.15pm.

Two fire engines from Yeovil and Somerton along with a rescue tender from Yeovil were mobilised to reports of a two-vehicle collision outside RNAS Yeovilton.

On arrival the crews found that nobody was trapped inside the vehicles.

“One casualty had already been transferred to hospital,” said a spokesman for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service. “We made the vehicles safe before leaving the incident.”

UPDATE - 2.45pm (Tuesday, November 22, 2016): Road now open again.
