YEOVIL NEWS: Chemical spill training exercise at Goldenstones

FIREFIGHTERS from across the county converged on the Goldenstones leisure pool in Yeovil to take part in training exercise involving a chemical spill.

The drill on Tuesday (October 18, 2016) evening centred around a simulated chemical incident which involved a mixture of two chemicals in the basement of the leisure pool which can be found at Yeovil Country Park.

Firefighters from Yeovil, Martock, Street and Wellington took part in the exercise.

“Many thanks to the management of Goldenstones for allowing us the opportunity to carry out realistic training on their premises,” said a spokesman for the Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service.
