SOMERSET NEWS: Pedestrian dies after being knocked down by car

A SOMERSET man who was seriously injured following a road traffic collision which happened in Wells last month has died.

Daren Padfield, aged 47, from Wells, was seriously injured on the evening of March 27, 2016, in Strawberry Way in the city.

A police spokesman said: “He had been crossing the road at about 7.30pm when he was in a collision with a car.

“He was taken to Southmead Hospital with serious life-threatening head injuries but sadly died on Friday (April 8, 2016) at about 1pm. 

His family have released a photo of Daren. 

The police spokesman added: “We are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact the collision investigation unit on 101, quoting reference CI/50/16.
