POLICE have released CCTV images of a man they would like to speak with following an armed robbery of a jewellery store in Yeovil.YEOVIL NEWS: Armed robbery at town jewellery store

At approximately 1.45pm on Saturday (December 12, 2015) a man walked into the shop on Middle   Street carrying what appeared to be a black handgun.

A police spokesman said: “The man forced staff to lie on the ground and demanded to be shown expensive jewellery.

“He then stole a quantity of valuable rings before running out of the shop onto Central Road towards the bus station and Quedam shopping centre.”

The suspect is described as white, 6ft 1ins tall, of slim build with a gaunt face and receding blonde hair. He was wearing a grey deerstalker-type hat, a long black coat with chequered lining, blue jeans, a burgundy jumper and black shoes. He was also carrying a canvas rucksack.

The spokesman added: “There were no customers in the store at the time but several members of staff were left shaken following the robbery.

“Anyone who witnessed the incident, or who saw someone acting suspiciously around the time, is urged to contact us.”
