CHRISTMAS 2015: Festive countdown gets started in Yeovil
THE Christmas Lights in Yeovil town centre were officially switched-on this evening (Saturday, November 14, 2015) to kick-start the shopping frenzy ahead of the festive season.
A group of children – all of whom have amazing and heart-warming stories to tell of determination and courage to overcome the odds – were invited to switch on the lights along with the Mayor, Cllr Mike Lock, and other invited guests.
The annual ceremony once again took place in the Quedam shopping centre.
Ahead of the lights switch-on was a lantern parade, led by the HMS Heron RN Volunteer Band, through the town along with the Mayor, Cllr Lock, and the town crier Bruce Trigger and cast members from the forthcoming Octagon Theatre pantomime Sleeping Beauty.
Let the Christmas festivities commence.
