CARNIVAL: Collection total announced in Chard

CHARD Carnival Committee has announced this afternoon (Monday, October 12, 2015) that the weekend's Carnival procession  saw £3,510 put into the collecting tins by people lining the route of the parade.

It is an increase on last year’s figure, but there is no doubt the Carnival committee would have liked the total to have been a lot higher.

But chairman Andy Chant said he would like to thank everyone who put their loose change into the buckets or onto the collecting trucks.

All money raised goes back into Carnival funds and is donated to local groups and organisations.

Any group or organisation wishing to be considered for a donation from Chard Carnival Committee should write to Andy via his email andrew.chant672@btinternet.com and this will then be handed out to the successful applicants during the annual presentaiton night.

Recipients from last year’s Carnival collection will be considered again, but only after new applicants.
