SOUTH SOMERSET NEWS: Firefighters tackle blaze through the night at Milborne Port

FIREFIGHTERS have been working through the night to deal with a house fire at Milborne Port.

The alarm was raised at just before 2am today (Thursday, July 23, 2015) to the incident in Bazzleways Close.

Two fire engines from Sherborne and one from Yeovil were initially mobilised, but due to the severity of the incident two further crews from Yeovil and one from Wincanton were also sent out, along with an incident support unit from Street.

Further back-up support was called in with the aerial platform from Yeovil and water carrier from Bridgwater.

By 7.30am the fire had been put out and had involved three properties.

The first property received 80 per cent damage, second property 100 per cent damage and the third property 20 per cent damage, while a fourth property has slight smoke damage.
