CARNIVAL: Plenty of fun at Montacute Carnival

CARNIVAL: Plenty of fun at Montacute Carnival

THE crowds came out again yesterday (Saturday, June 20, 2015) for the annual Montacute Carnival.

A cavalcade of floats, masqueraders and majorettes gathered at the National Trust’s Montacute House and then made their way through the village.CARNIVAL: Plenty of fun at Montacute Carnival

There were some great costumes and creations and great fun in abundance as the weather stayed dry – just – to the delight of the Carnivalites and the watching spectators who lined the streets through the village.

Carnival committee chairman Ed Siegle said: “My sincere thanks go not only to the dedicated committee, but to the many others that help out.

“Without your help the Carnival could not take place.

“We also thank the National Trust for allowing us to use Montacute House as the stunning backdrop to our event.”

Leading the parade were Liam Price and Minnie Jones, both aged ten, of Montacute’s All Saints School, who were this year’s Carnival Prince and Princess.

All the money raised at the Carnival will go towards good causes in the local community.

Back at Montacute House there were refreshments, live music and games for people to enjoy.
