SOMERSET NEWS: Renewed appeal from police over death crash

POLICE have issued a renewed witness appeal relating to a collision near Highbridge in which a man died.

Robert Goodwin, a 27-year-old man from Highbridge, died when the Renault Clio he was travelling in ended up submerged in a rhyne off the B3139 at The Causeway in Mark.

A police spokesman said: “Following further enquiries, we now believe the collision happened at around 2am on Saturday (May 30, 2015) morning.

“We’re appealing to anyone driving in the area around this time to come forward if they have any information which could help our inquiry.”

Another 27-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and he has been released on bail until July while police investigations continue.
