SOMERSET NEWS: Yarlington staff support St Margaret’s Hospice

STAFF from Yeovil-based Yarlington Housing Group have taken the opportunity to spring clean their homes to help support St Margaret’s Somerset Hospice.SOMERSET NEWS: Yarlington staff support St Margaret’s Hospice

Cupboards were cleared, clutter collected and clothes sorted which resulted in over 25 bags being filled by Yarlington staff ready for collection and then distribution across the St Margaret’s Hospice charity shops.

Yarlington communications adviser, Gemma Stevenson, said: “This was a great chance to give those things that sit in a cupboard and never get used a second home and the chance to raise money for a local charity in the process.

“After the positive involvement we received from staff we will definitely be having another staff spring clean before the year is out to further support St Margaret’s Hospice which is Yarlington’s staff charity for 2015.”

St Margaret’s community fundraiser, Ruth Morgan, added: “We are so grateful to the staff at Yarlington Housing Group for taking the time to spring clean their homes and for donating their pre-loved items to St Margaret’s Hospice.

“These items will soon be available in our shops and once sold the proceeds will go to support the work of the hospice.

“As the fourth largest hospice in the country, St Margaret’s is reliant on donations and fundraising in order to provide our services and without the support of our local community we would not be able to deliver much needed services to the people of Somerset.”
