YEOVIL NEWS: Appeal to find stolen handbag

AN appeal has gone out for help in finding a handbag containing personal items which was stolen from a car outside a house on the Abbey Manor estate in Yeovil.

The black handbag and two bags of shopping were taken from a car in Westbrook on Easter Monday (April 6, 2015).

The car had been left for just five minutes, but that was enough time for culprits to lean in through the open sunroof and take the items.

The owner has been left deeply upset at the theft as the handbag contained personal items. A purse inside the bag contained cash and a bank card which has been cancelled, while there was also a phone, notebook, photo and asthma inhaler.

If anyone has any information please get in touch via us here at the Yeovil Press at yeovilpress@gmail.com or by phoning police on 101.

People living on Abbey Manor are being asked to keep an eye out for the bag which may have been dumped into a hedge or down an alleway.

The police would advise people to make sure that vehicles are properly secured and that shopping and items are not left on display in parked cars.
