YEOVIL NEWS: Awards for visually impaired bowlers

THREE visually impaired bowls players will be presented with certificates of recognition next week by Yeovil Town Council.

The trio of players from Yeovil Visually Impaired Bowls Club all triumphed earlier this year in New Zealand at the 2015 International Bowls for the Disabled World Championships.

Ron Homer gained a gold medal in the men’s singles, while Terry Matthews collected a silver medal. Nancy Cheeseman won a silver medal in the women’s singles.

The England team won a total of one gold, three silver and three bronze medals during the championships.

The Mayor of Yeovil, Cllr Mike Lock, will present certificates of recognition to the three players at the full meeting of Yeovil Town Council on Tuesday (April 7, 2015).
