SOMERSET NEWS: St Margaret's Hospice chief exec retires

THE St Margaret’s Somerset Hospice has announced that after ten years’ service Dr Jon Andrewes has decided to retire from his position as chief executive officer from the organisation.

The hospice's Board of Trustees have thanked Mr Andrewes for his significant contribution and leadership over the years and wish him well in the next venture.

The Trustee Board has invited the deputy chief executive, Ann Lee, to stand-in for Mr Andrewes until such time as a new chief executive appointment is made.

Ann has enjoyed a national profile with Hospice UK and is passionate about making every day count for patients and their families.SOMERSET NEWS: St Margaret's Hospice chief exec retires

During her long service at St Margaret’s there has been significant development and modernisation of palliative care services provided by the Hospice to the people of Somerset.

Among some of those highlights included the successful opening on an inpatient unit at Yeovil, the first major hospice-sponsored rock concert in 2014 with Rod Stewart at the County Ground in Taunton, and the introduction of a bereavement service which has led to a growth in the support for relatives of people for whom St Margaret’s care.

St Margaret’s vice-chairman David Jenkins said the Trustees were looking forward to working with Ann and the team of staff and volunteers to maintain the high standard of care and service for which the hospice is known.
