The Tesco team have been taking it in turns to get on a treadmill yesterday (Friday, March 27, 2015) and today (Saturday, March 28, 2015) to pound out the miles in aid of their chosen charities for the year – Diabetes UK and British Heart Foundation.

They have been striding out to walk the equivalent of a full marathon; a total of 26.2-miles.

The Tesco staff started yesterday and began clocking up the miles and they have been at it again today.

The store’s customer services manager, Tom Bartlett, told the Yeovil Press that they were well on target to more than reach their marathon target.

Last year the store raised £14,000 for Diabetes UK and is hoping to better that this time around in which funds raised will be shared between Diabetes UK and the British Heart Foundation.

Mr Bartlett said he would like to congratulate staff on their fundraising efforts, but also thank all of the store’s customers for their much-appreciated donations.
