SOUTH SOMERSET NEWS: Labour brings NHS message to Ilminster

PARLIAMENTARY hopeful Martin Jevon - along with members of Yeovil and South Somerset Labour Party - braved the rain on Saturday (October 4, 2014) to bring the party's NHS campaign to Ilminster.

Dodging the downpours Ilminster residents and shoppers shared their experiences of the NHS with the Labour campaigners.

Mr Jevon, who will be standing for Labour in the Yeovil constituency at next year's General Election, said: “The shocking thing is that almost one in four people tell us that they wait more than 72 hours to see a GP.

“Under a Labour government elected in 2015 people would be guaranteed an appointment within 48 hours or on the same day if urgent.”

The campaign has already been to Yeovil and Crewkerne, and on October 25, 2014, Mr Jevon and his team will be in Chard.
