YEOVIL NEWS: Jekyll and Hyde comes to the Octagon Theatre stage

THE dark and sinister musical production of Jekyll and Hyde comes to its menacing best tonight (Tuesday, October 7, 2014) with the opening night of the show at the Octagon Theatre in Yeovil.

Months of hard work, preparation and rehearsals will come to fruition this evening when members of the highly-talented Yeovil Amateur Operatic Society take to the stage.

The haunting musical is a thriller based on the novel The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde written by Robert Louis Stevenson.

The key dual-role of Dr Jekyll and the murderous Mr Hyde is played superbly by Luke Whitchurch with his “love interests” in the show being Emma Carew (played by Naomi Riglar) and Lucy Harris (played by Jennifer Holland-Brewer).

The show is being directed and choreographed by Jeremy Tustin with Kat Stevens as musical director.

The Yeovil Press was invited along to the dress rehearsal last night (Monday, October 6, 2014) and there is no doubt that audiences are going to absolutely love this show. Our words of advice are simple – don’t miss out on seeing a fantastic production with a great cast, fab music, superb costumes, atmospheric lighting and scenery and….best of all….the Red Rat girls!

Tickets are on sale form the Octagon box office on 01935-422884. Tickets for tonight’s opening performance and the matinee show on Saturday (October 11, 2014) are priced £14. It will cost £17 per person for all other performances.

It should be noted that the show is probably not suitable for young children.

Each evening performance starts at 7.30pm, while the Saturday matinee will begin at 2.30pm.
