SOUTH SOMERSET NEWS: Citizens Advice Bureau on the move

THE South Somerset Citizens Advice Bureau in Yeovil will be moving to new premises later this month.

The CAB has been located at premises in Hendford, Yeovil, for the past five years, but on Monday, September 29, 2014, it will re-open on the lower ground floor of Petters House in Petters Way, Yeovil.

The charity has been successful in negotiating a lease for the new offices at Petters House which is owned by South Somerset District Council.

South Somerset CAB acting chief executive, Alison Lennox, said: “We are really pleased that we have been able to secure new premises.

“Although we will be working from self-contained offices the premises will be shared by other advice service providers, which will make us more accessible to our clients.

“The office space is modern and has been designed to improve the services offered to the local community. This move also fits in with the Bureau’s longer term strategic plan to enhance our service by developing a network of outreach locations.”SOUTH SOMERSET NEWS: Citizens Advice Bureau on the move

Alison added: “We are currently working hard to increase our volunteering numbers so that we can reach more members of our community. Offering volunteers a pleasant and user-friendly environment which is designed to meet the service needs is just one part of this initiative.”

The CAB welcomes volunteers from all sections of the community and offers a wide variety of different and rewarding roles.

If anyone is interested in volunteering for the Bureau further details can be found at www.southsomcab.org.uk.

From September 29, 2014, people will also be able to contact the CAB on the Volunteer Hotline 01935-847681.

To allow the move to take place the CAB will be closing its face to face services throughout the week commencing September 22, 2014. Its telephone service 01935-421167 will be available on Monday, September 22, 2014, from 10am until 3pm and Wednesday, September 24, 2014, from 10am until 3pm.

Normal opening hours will resume from the new premises on Monday, September 29, 2014.
