YEOVIL NEWS: Cyclists pedal off to Paris

TWELVE cyclists have set off from Chilthorne Domer today (Sunday, August 17, 2014) bound for Paris to help raise money for the Piers Simon Appeal.

The dozen riders and three support crew left Home Farm in Chilthorne Domer and are expected to arrive at the Eiffel Tower in the French capital by Friday (August 22, 2014) evening.

All money raised will go towards the Piers Simon Appeal and its associated School in a Bag initiative.

Piers, a former Preston School and Yeovil College student, was aged 33 when he was killed in the Boxing Day tsunami of 2004 while holidaying in Thailand.

The PSA was formed in his memory and has helped to fund projects around the globe hit by natural disasters, while the School in a Bag initiative has provided thousands of orphaned and poor children with useful everyday school utensils.
